Aerodynamic Analysis Services
Computational Methods aerodynamic analysis services provide you the
capabilities of a Aerodynamics department, at low cost. Computational
Methods aerodynamicists have over 20 years of direct experience in all phases of
aerodynamics. We are well versed in computational fluid dynamics methods
from linear potential panel methods to one and two equation turbulent Reynolds
number averaged Navier-Stokes methods. We are well versed in aircraft
performance calculations differentiating flight manual performance from
operational performance. In the area of flight dynamics we utilize
classical methods implemented in modern computing tools like MATLAB-SIMULINK and
custom programs.
The following sections provide further details about our aerodynamic
analysis capabilities:
- Computational Fluid Dynamics - CFD
CFD is used to describe the general set of tasks required to perform CFD
analysis. These tasks include: geometry definition, panel or grid
generation, running the CFD solver, and post processing CFD solver
results. Computational Methods has developed methods to streamline these
tasks as much as possible.
- Geometry definition can be as simple as importing your surface
models or as complicated as developing geometry from scratch.
Computational Methods has developed economical methods for developing
geometry from scratch using modern metrology tools. Figure 1 shows the
progression from measured data to surface definition to analysis grid
definition.

Once surface geometry is available it is time to develop grid or paneling
inputs for CFD analysis. This process is accomplished using geometry tools
like GRIDGEN et. al.; the results of this process is an input file ready for the
CFD solver. Computational Methods uses PC based tools for this step.

CFD solutions are obtained using Computational Methods computing cluster.
