Decompression Analysis Services
Computational Methods provides decompression analyses services for the
civil aviation industry. We specialize in the decompression analysis and
approval of interior and exterior modification in accordance with FAA or JAA
regulations. Decompression analysis services are provided by an FAA DER
specializing in decompression.
Decompression analyses are performed to provide pressure loading data which
is used in structural analysis to comply with the requirements of Federal
Aviation Regulation (FAR) §25.365. Each decompression analysis is tailored
to the specific aircraft configuration and aircraft model. At CM we are familiar with
most Boeing and Airbus aircraft models.
Decompression analyses involve
determining pressure time histories for each aircraft compartment during a of sudden loss of
pressure. During an aircraft decompression at design conditions, the pressure inside an
aircraft pressurized cabin drops to ambient pressure in less than 30 seconds,
however most maximum pressure differentials are occur within the first 0.5
second or
less.
In addition to our decompression analysis service, we also can provide component testing
services to experimentally establish discharge coefficients for unique/complex
flow paths.
