Icing Analysis Services
Computational Methods personnel are well versed in analytical, and
experimental icing analysis and testing.
Most "after market" icing analyses are associated with
developing data necessary for certifying the addition of an antenna or
other protuberance to an aircraft. These type of icing analyses
involve ice accretion analyses, ice trajectory analyses, and ice
impact/ingestion analyses.
Computational Methods uses the ice accretion programs developed
by NASA Lewis, LEWICE and LEWICE 3D, augmented by CFD programs for the
analysis of ice trajectories.
Computational Methods can also provide heating requirements for anti-icing,
and can recommend anti-ice treatments to prevent the development of ice
build-ups.
